Holey Cat!

Just a short entry to show that cats are not as easy as they would like you to think! Boomer has decided that the sound of cat teeth piercing blinds is very satisfying and as such has proceeded to put a lot of holes in mine!!

And Yu You needs a haircut again!

Getting back to normal

The jet lag is slowly going now although it's very hard to stay awake after 8pm!

The first night was the worst. Both of us were trying so hard to stay up but we had the pets to look after too. When 10pm came I went to put Yu You in her cage and she howled!! Daniel had completly conked out by then and was just saying yes to my pleas for some help. I forgive him though as he had work the next day and I didn't.

Anyway we eventually gave in and just let the pair of them roam the house but Yu You did have accidents so it wasn't a huge success.

The next night we decided we had to put her in her cage as it prevents any accidents so again she howled and howled. :( Poor thing! I think her holiday family had given in and not put her in her cage at night! :-| It was on the instruction sheet! Pah!

This time though Daniel (angel!) went down and sat with her until she fell asleep. He ended up falling asleep there too but came up an hour later when he woke up. Hee hee!

But last night she was fine. Phew! I had to push her into the cage but there was no howling. Hopefully thatll be the end of the noise! She's more vocal now than she was when she left anyway!

Next challenge for us is trying to figure out when they go on heat so we can chase unsavoury suitors away!!

Back!

We are just back from Japan this afternoon and have gotten both pets back from their respective holiday homes.

Boomer was first as she was staying with Daniel's mum. She had certainly settled herself in! We saw her playing with Jake instead of hissing at him and trying to get at the budgie! She was a little anxious when we got home but seems to have settled now Yu You is back.

Yu You arrived back at 5pm with lots of enthusiasm!

They have definatley both grown! Yu You has started to loose her puppy teeth and her host reports loved rost lamb and scrambled egg!!! She'll wonder why she has been downgraded when I feed her tonight!!

Boomer is much bigger now and is quite happy trying to see if she still fits into her old hiding places.

So tired so will stop now. Must try not to sleep yet!

Hollibags

I just thought I'd quickly post this picture of Yu You looking in my suitcase before we fly off to Japan for two weeks. Yu You is going to stay with a nice (better be!) family nearby care of a company called Barking Mad. I decided against a kennel as they all looked a bit hostile and I didn't want her house training to regress. Yes, I know, pampered poochie! I need all the progress I can get as she still has some accidents although she has started to develop signs of trying to tell us she needs out.

She got a bit down as we were rushing about packing and she suspects something is happening, especially when she sees her toys dissapearing into her own luggage!

Anyway, I'll report back on wether she still remembers us when we get back!

Grand Day Out!!

Yesterday afternoon was a huge adventure for Yu You as we went to visit the badminton people to deliver shuttles and then we had a walk in Glasgow Green. Yup! Yu You had an excursion to the big smoke! \(^-^)/

This is Yu You with Grant. She didn't seem to like Joe as much for some reason! Must have known he was competition for dog food!

This is Yu You having a walk in Glasgow Green. She didn't like the noisy buses much but loved the new smells and people. We met a little westie called Haggis who's owner held onto Yu You while I put her lead on. She didn't really want to go back to the car!

But Glasgow green wasn't the end of the big trip. Afterwards we drove to "Pets at Home" to get her James Wellbeloved organic pet food and some new snacks. Yu You wasn't feeling too well by then though as there are too many stops and starts in city centre driving. :( But as I am a mean mummy, I drove her to her Aunties instead of going home and she was sick on the back seat and feeling very sorry for herself when we got there.

Fortunately there was lots of bacon on hand when we got to the flat and she cheered up enough to have a good nosey. I think she associates that flat with bacon now as she was very keen to go inside!! She got bacon last time too... so hard to resist her method of begging (this consists of sitting very quietly and staring at you and yur food until you give in. After giving in the first time, she will smile away at you until you relent again!)

By the time we got home Yu You was ready for bed and only complained a litte bit when I put her in her cage.

Boomer Update

Boomer is doing great and is quite a lot bigger now! She and Yu You are still play fighting every night. I assume it's playing as they don't seem to run away from each other and Boomer (mostly) doesn't use her claws. "\(.:.:.)/"

She's getting more curious about the outside world now and routinely runs out the front door to explore for a bit before chickening out and coming back in. We are hoping she will stay outside at night soon but last night when I left her in the garden by herself for a bit she came back in very needy! It may not be *very* soon!

I managed to get this photo of her sitting still for a change!

It's been a very long blog this time and I will need to make more time for it more often! Anyway, here are some random photos I have which I think are worth showing. You'll note that they provide evidence that Boomer and Yu You love each other (as long as Boomer doesn't touch Yu You's food!)!
