Lots of Ouch!
It's been a tough few days for Yu You recently. Saturday was V-Day and she had to get her last set of jabs. Ouch! Lots of whining and pitiful looks. I had to cover her eyes while the vet was performing the dastardly deed as I didn't want to see her sad eyes!
She was feeling very sorry for herself all day Saturday. Refused to play with Boomer and milked it for all it was worth. For some strange doggy reason she also decided that I must have been to blame for the pain and went in a huff with me for a while but not with Daniel even though we both went to the vet with her!! When Daniel bent down he got a wag of the tail and a lick. When I bent down I got a turned head. In fact, if I sat down next to her on the sofa she would get up with a sigh and walk to the other end and lie back down again grumpily with lots of huffs! Spoilt madam! She "forgave" me eventually though.
On Sunday we drove to visit Daniel's mum and her dog Jake. This is the first dog she has seen since leaving the breeder so it was a relief that she wasn't scared at all. Jake is the most mild mannered dog I know but unfortunately didn't really understand why there was a fluff ball trying to sniff him and getting attention from his family! He spent all the time watching her and backing away when Yu You tried to sniff him! Yu You seemed to have fun visiting a new house and didn't embarrass me - thank goodness!
Today she discovered that standing on stingy things like wasps is not a good idea! At lunch time she suddenly yelped and raced towards me whining in pain. I picked her up bit couldn't figure out what was wrong and thought she'd maybe stepped on a sharp twig and she was holding her right back paw funny. It wasn't til I saw a wasp still flying around her that I realised what had happened. She must have accidently stepped on it when she was playing on the grass!
Lots of cuddles and kisses again for her but again she decided that *I* must have had something to do with her pain so again she went in a huff with me! I think it must be because I am always around when something happens and she can't blame the pack leader (Daniel) as he is the pack leader and we wouldn't want to upset him...
So, she felt sorry for herself and limped and whined her way around my office trying to get comfy. Half an hour later my friend Roslin came to say hi and lo and behold Yu You makes a miraculous recovery and rushes to greet her with no whining at all!! But she still stays in a huff with me and only wags her tail at Roslin!
She's better now though after a long sleep and some cheese.
This is a photo of her staring down the stairs after Boomer. Yu You is still too small to try them yet and Boomer takes full advantage of this by sitting on the next step down just out of reach and batting her nose with her paw! It reminds me of Garfield and Odie. One day Boomer is going to kick Yu You off a table I think!
