Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
As you can see from the photo below, the kids were very interested in thier presents but as with most children, it turned out the just liked the wrapping paper! Although Boomer did eat a couple of catnip treats and was promptly hyperactive for a good half hour afterwards. Those treats are rationed now!
Yu You recieved a lovely doggy coat but unfortunatley she is not a Next medium it would seem... This is a photo of her looking a bit glum. Luckily we don't reeally believe in dieting in our household so we'll just accept Next has unrealistic expectations for a medium and buy a different one!
We were uber proud of Yu You on Christmas day. Both Boomer and Yu You went with us to our first Christmas visit which was to Daniel's mums for the big lunch (although it was at 3pm!) and we all ate far too much turkey.
Yu You had a lovely time playing with Jake, Daniel's mum's dog. There were some tussells when denta bones were involved but nothing major. Afterwards we dropped Boomer off at home and then Yu You came with us to Troon for her first visit.
I was very apprehensive as I wouldn't say she was 100% reliable on the house training front but I was asked very specifically by my siblings to bring her. But my fears were unfounded as she was perfectly behaved! She even managed to wrap my mother round her tail with a few puppy looks and sitting when she was told in Chinese no less! Lucky for us we have trained her with hand gestures so it barely matters on the language but it looks very impressive when she sat, lay down a,d stood on hind legs all with "hakka" commands ;-)
But that wasn't the end of our adventures. After our second dinner (!) we all drove around to my Uncles house in Irvine and again I was an extremely proud mummy when she didn't have an accident.
And that wasn't the end either! We had one more house stop to my cousin's house and by that time she was very sleepy! Luckily she just peed outside and then found a corner and fell asleep while we played Name that Tune (80's edition - v hard!) and oscasionally raised her head to show her annoyance at our loud voices disturbing her sleep. Sweet puppy!
Any how, when I eventually called my parents to let them know we were home safe, my mother asked if Yu You was ok and not car sick at all... I suspect she will get a repeat invitation to Troon now and a lot of ribs at her disposal!
Happy New Year!
