The crate has landed...

The dog crate has arrived and the blurb was right! Even a DIY non-enthusiast like me can put it up in 5 mins. Might have taken Daniel 2 mins but I had some problems with pushing a couple of the clips in place as I have weakling arms. But still I was very impressed.

I bought a 61cm Savic Residence Dog Crate from www.canineconcepts.co.uk which I think will be suitable for Yu You even when she is fully grown. It has two doors, one at the front and another at the top. I’m not really sure when we’d use the top door but perhaps it will come in handy some day! There are also two handles for carrying. I haven’t figured out how to fit these yet as they seem to just fall off but I’m sure Daniel will figure it out… I don’t think I’ll carry Yu You in it though as I know *I* don’t want to knocked against a wire cage! And after all, she will be a very carry-able size when she’s big too! Besides, in the car we’ll have her little car seat!

Along with the crate came (or rather along with the crate I also ordered…) a dog bed which fits inside her cage and cushion which has an electronic dog heartbeat which is designed to help puppies be by themselves the first time. I hope it works! I tried it out and it sounds a bit loud to be a real but hopefully Yu You will think there is another dog in the crate with her at night time and won’t be too scared. They only had pink ones left too!
